Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the ZELLIJ · Mosaic Drop mobile game ("the Game", "we", "us") handles information. Short version: the Game has no ads and no advertising trackers, and is fully playable offline. Optional online features (leaderboard, cloud save) use Google Firebase with an anonymous account — we never ask for your name, email, or password.

1. Anonymous account

When the Game is online, it signs you in anonymously through Firebase Authentication. This creates a random, anonymous identifier for your device. It contains no personal information and does not identify you as a person. If the Game is offline, no account is created and everything stays on your device.

2. Data stored online (Cloud Firestore)

Tied only to your anonymous identifier:

• Weekly leaderboard — your best score of the week, the game mode, an auto-generated display name (e.g. “Player 1a2b”) and a timestamp. Leaderboard entries are publicly visible to other players inside the Game.
• Cloud save — your collection progress (unlocked zellige motifs) and your daily streak, so you can restore your progress on another device.

3. Analytics

The Game uses Firebase Analytics to understand how the Game is played and improve it. It records anonymous usage events (for example: a game started or ended, a motif unlocked) together with standard technical information (app version, device model, operating system, coarse region, and a random app-instance identifier). It does not collect your name, email, or precise location.

4. Remote configuration

The Game fetches setting values (feature flags and tuning) from Firebase Remote Config. This sends only standard request metadata and collects no personal information from you.

5. Data stored only on your device

The Game keeps the following in its private on-device storage: your scores, unlocked album, streak, and preferences (language, sound, haptics). This data stays on your device and is removed when you uninstall the Game or clear its data.

6. No advertising

The Game shows no ads and contains no advertising or ad-attribution SDKs.

7. Donations

Support is optional. If you tap “Support the studio”, your browser opens an external PayPal page. Anything you do there is governed by PayPal’s own privacy policy. We never receive your payment card details.

8. Third parties & processors

Online features are provided by Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Analytics, Remote Config), which acts as our data processor. Data may be processed on Google’s servers under Google’s privacy terms. If you installed the Game from Google Play, Google may also collect data as described in its own policies.

9. Children

The Game is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children beyond the anonymous, non-identifying data described above.

10. Data retention & deletion

Uninstalling the Game removes all on-device data. To delete your anonymous online data (your leaderboard entry and cloud save), email us at contact@yassine-world.fun and we will remove the records linked to your anonymous identifier.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. the EU/EEA under GDPR), you may have the right to access or delete your data. Because the data we hold is anonymous, contact us at the address above and we will help where technically possible.

12. Security

Online data is protected by Firebase security rules that restrict writes to your own anonymous account. On-device data is protected by the operating system’s standard app sandboxing.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Game evolves. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest revision.
